ascending Pike's Peak, Colorado, by train

This is the highest point you can reach by rail in the USA --14,115 feet (4,302 metres). However, the day before we did it at the end of May there had been a fresh snowfall, so the train could only get to 11,500 ft, never mind.  See the earlier post and the official website
