linking the U.S. and Russia by rail across the Bering Strait?

An interesting if unlikely project is detailed on this webpage.  There would be a change of gauge involved - standard 4' 8.5" to Russian 5' broad gauge - and then the costs of a tunnel, and a lot of new track though Alaska and Canada...
