nine killed in a bomb blast in a police raid on a Muslim Brotherhood apartment in Giza, Egypt

A bomb attack has killed nine people including six police officers and injured 10 others near a road leading to the Egyptian pyramids in Cairo.

The bomb exploded as a team of officers raided an apartment where militants were preparing explosives in the suburb of Giza, police said.

The Interior Ministry said the building was booby-trapped and the bomb went off when the bomb squad went to defuse it.

'Nine people have been killed in the blast, including six policemen,' an officer said. 'The others include a civilian and two unidentified men.'
