Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority trolleys, circa 1960

This agency took over the last remaining 3'6" gauge streetcar lines in L.A. along with the remains of the Pacific Electric Railway in 1958. The agency (a predecessor to the current agency, The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro)) removed the remaining five streetcar lines (J, P, R, S and V) and two trolley bus lines (2 and 3) replacing them with diesel buses on 31 March 1963.
