at the Polish Festival, Wellington

Yesterday we made one of our occasional public appearances when we took up an invitation to sell Stanislaw Dabrowski's autobiography Seeds in the Storm and our two books on Wellington at the Celebrating All Things Polish Festival.  Being next to the sound stage with constant music performances didn't make it easy to talk to customers, however.

The festival ended in time to witness the evening public fireworks display in the harbour, for most citizens a celebration of the Rugby World Cup victory a week ago.  Prince Charles and Camilla were also in town on Friday to offer their congratulations at the public parade.

Traditional Polish dancing.  One notes the guy on the left is holding a whip...
