1962 Buick Wildcat 410 V8

"Are you eager to experience advanced thrust?"
"Ooh yes."

  1. The 410 in this case refers not to the engine displacement but to the maximum torque output, the biggest number amongst its specifications. The engine was 401 cubic inches and made 325 horsepower gross.
Interestingly the 4447 on the number plate is the series designation of the base LeSabre two door hardtop. The Wildcat, which was a high specification version of the Invicta two door was a 4657.

  2. I may have put the wrong series number for the Wildcat. It was 4647. In this case the first 4 is for Buick (Chev was 1 and Pontiac was 2 etc), the second 4 is for the Le Sabre series and the 47 the code for the two door hardtop.
