what now for the world's most watched TV motoring show?
With the BBC firing Jeremy Clarkson from the Top Gear show after he gave a producer a piece of his mind and a fat lip in a Yorkshire hotel, the series will almost certainly end on the BBC. However, given that the show is a big money maker - it has an estimated worldwide audience of 350 million, it will be no surprise if the competing channels present Clarkson and his co-presenters with offers.
Clarkson made the show more than just a presentation of merits and demerits of various cars from the very top of the range to old clunkers; it was also an unorthodox travelogue in the UK and in various parts of the world, including several times in the USA and in NZ, and a presentation of hitherto unknown car interests of personalities from the worlds of music, TV and movies.
