This is a photo one of us snapped from a car last Thursday (ironically just after Euan McQueen's letter appeared in the Dominion Post) showing a truck-semi trailer on its side in the Otaihanga Roundabout between Paraparaumu and Waikanae. It was causing a major traffic snarl up going back many kilometres.
There's little doubt it had been going through the roundabout too fast - was the driver half asleep? What, if anything, has Steven Joyce got to say about this all-too-frequent type of incident?
