British Government gets tough on Internet trolls

Internet trolls residing in the UK could face up to two years in jail under new laws, British Justice Secretary Chris Grayling has said.

He told the Mail on Sunday quadrupling the current maximum six-month term showed his determination to "take a stand against a baying cyber-mob". Mr Grayling was speaking days after TV presenter Chloe Madeley suffered online abuse, which Mr Grayling described as "crude and degrading". Those who indulge in this have mental health issues and nearly all are physically harmless cowards.  Although they think they are anonymous, they are usually easy to trace. Even we haven't been exempt, one example has been a Mr DP McLauchlan (who also goes by the pseudonym of Porte Molitor) who lives in the Cotswolds and records of his trolling go back to 1996. However, it has been very easy for us to deal with.  For those with vulnerable personalities, particularly teenagers, however, we can easily appreciate the distress it causes.
