Italian ferry ship 'Tyrsus'


The Tyrsus was built in 1961 at Cantieri Navali Riuniti di Palermo (now Fincantieri) in Palermo as the first ferry of the Ferrovie dello Stato (FS or Italian State Railways) for sailings between Civitavecchia and Golfo Aranci and used from 1961 until 1994, then sold to the shipping company Plurimar Ltd.

The ship transported passengers with cars (there were 70 cabins with private facilities of which 47 were single and 23 double), railway wagons (freight cars) and trucks.
