Wellington's biggest annual book event

This is the Downtown Community Ministry's annual bookfair, usually held in August which attracts tens of thousands over its two days.  As well as donations of used books from the public, a few local Wellington publishers, including ourselves, donate cartons of older unused titles. When one of us visited about 11:30 yesterday, some of our competitors' titles were still there but all of ours had been quickly snapped up, no surprise :-)

It's a good opportunity to acquire books you won't find in any bookstore, even overseas, and there are always gems to discover, even if you don't like the used look and feel.  Proceeds go to the DCM's homeless charity.
