Obviously fitted with a turntable ladder, now restored and preserved at the Ferrymead Historic Park in Christchurch. This was powered by a 4-cylinder petrol engine which worked a generator for an electric motor and a winch for the ladder. For more, see the Brian Denton book Chariots for Fire.
