1950s Clyde diesel on a Gin Gin sugar cane railway, Queensland

The road number is not legible, but it will be an early 1950s C type diesel mechanical model.  No, Gin Gin did not get its name from a fondness for that spirit by the locals, but like many strange Aussie place names is an Anglicization of an Aboriginal word.
