traffic in Lambton Quay, Wellington, 1930s


Including a tram crossing. The postcard captioner clearly saw the State Fire Insurance Building as the key element in this scene and in fact it was one of the more notable buildings, but was still one of the many demolished in the early 1980s during the city's rebuild frenzy.  One notes the billboard for Atlantic Motor Oil.
