Wellington's harbour shoreline pre-foothills motorway

Taken in 1965 from a vantage point in Wadestown looking north, this shows early preparation for the motorway advancing south in the distance towards Thorndon.  The old floating dry dock can be seen (see earlier post) and in the yard an electric multiple unit and at bottom the start of the Johnsonville Branch.  For more, see the book Wellington Transport Memories
