Holland Tunnel under the Hudson (NY-NJ) poster, 1950

By a business called Sicilian Asphalt - presumably Sicily was where the founders came from.  The four lane Holland Tunnel was opened on 13 November 1927 and is 8,558 feet (2.609 km) long westbound, 8,371 feet (2.552 km) eastbound and the clearance inside is 12.5 ft (3.8 metres).
