A total of 534 of what was then the Prussian T18, a 4-6-4T, were built between 1912–1927 by the Vulkan Werke in Stettin. After WW2 the Deutsche Bundesbahn (West) took over 424 engines and the Deutsche Reichsbahn (East) 53. This example was seen with a goods train near Rottenburg am Neckar in the autumn of 1973.
