It would be nice to say that book sales improved over the year, but apart from occasional blips, the general trend for the last 6 years has been like the song by the Jeff Beck Group (written by Leon Russell), "Going Down".
It isn't only us experiencing that, it's an omnipresent tide affecting the whole industry internationally. One of the messages we've tried to promote on this blog is that reading books is cool, but it seems the world isn't listening.
But we persevere. To our readers and customers we wish you all the best for the festive season and a good 2014.
