beach-goers prefer paper books to e-readers

from the Express (UK) :

Over two-thirds told a survey at London’s Heathrow that they would rather relax with a paperback despite the convenience of eReaders.

Some complained that sunshine reflected on electronic screens, making them difficult to read, and sand got into the devices on the beach.

One in 10 also turned their backs on smartphones, tablets and laptops while away. Retail chief Muriel Zingraff-Shariff said: “The popularity of eBooks has boomed, but you can’t beat a good book. People want a break from technology.”
