At any rate, 1955 was when this children's book was published, (70 pages, 4 colour pictures and 70 other photos and illustrations, hardcover, 250 x 190 mm). 35001 was the first of the Southern Railway's Merchant Navy class locomotives, better known as the 'Bulleid Pacifics' and entered service in 1941.
