School students and a teacher heading to Kuranui College at Greytown in the Wairarapa are seen boarding a Tranzit group Bedford NFM at Featherston in 1998. The company operated 19 of these former New Zealand Railways Road Services buses, all built in the 1970s with New Zealand Motor Bodies. This model saw service in the Hutt Valley before more sedate duties on school bus work but had a brief spell in Wellington as the carrier for university students at Victoria. Along with other examples it was withdrawn after 2003 and most are now often seen moving around as mobile homes (as this one now is). (Wallace Trickett photo)
