airport duty free shops certainly aren't profit free

As Colin Taylor said in Traincatcher.  This was brought home recently when we realised that 'Duty Free' shops in both Sydney and Auckland were selling bottles of Jim Beam, Jack Daniels and Malibu (among other things) at about 70% above the normal supermarket price in America.  Somebody sure is creaming Telecom style profits...

Our advice is to be aware of normal shop prices in your destination before being tempted by these travelers' traps, and don't fall for their advertised 'bargains'.
