This 4-4-0 steam locomotive, numbered by the PLM as C145 and known as the "Coupe Vent" (wind cutter), was built in 1900 as one of the series C61 to C180, later SNCF 220A. It was designed by Charles Baudry and as can be seen it was semi-streamlined and an improvement over the C11, C12 and C21 to C60 with more power with its 4-cylinder compounding. They were capable of pulling a 200 tonne train at 100 km/h. After WW1 they were replaced by more powerful engines, and the last was withdrawn from service in 1938.
C145 was withdrawn in 1936 and is now preserved at the SNCF Musée in Mulhouse. Weight: 57.4 tonnes, length: 19.33 metres including tender, driving wheel diameter: 2 metres.
