Mount Hamilton Incline Railway, Canada

This funicular comprised a 218.5 metre long double track at a 45% grade. The cars carried passengers and wagons, for a maximum load of nine tons, 92 metres up to the top of the escarpment.  Initially it was steam worked; converted to electricity in 1914. It operated from 1895 to 1936 when the company went bankrupt, and was dismantled in 1949.  More info and pics here.
