narrow gauge steam tram in Doesburg, Netherlands, 1957

As steam trams went, this one was reasonably long lasting, having commenced in 1881 and ended in 1957. It was 750 mm gauge and ran from Arnhem, via Doetinchem to Isselburg-Anholt in Germany. After WW2 the service was reduced and in 1954 only the trajectory Doetinchem - Doesburg Haven and two connecting lines to Wijnbergen and Hummelo were left. In the summers of 1956 and 1957 a historic tram traveled between Doetinchem and Doesburg, and 2 September 1957 saw the last service.   This tram was built in 1900 and now preserved in the Nationaal Smalspoor Museum in Valkenburg
