Chicago Great Western Railway


The Chicago Great Western Railway or CGW was a Class I railroad that linked Chicago, Minneapolis, Omaha, and Kansas City and existed between 1885 and 1968 when it was taken over by the Chicago and North Western which progressively abandoned most of the CGW trackage.  The area in this pic may be on the Dubuque County Heritage Rail Trail - website
