This was a separate system to the urban system and was operated by the Camps Bay Tramways Company Ltd whose main objective was not to make money by providing transport but to open up Oranjezicht and Camps Bay in order to sell land for development of private residences. It was a standard gauge system linking Burnside Road in Cape Town with Camps Bay and Sea Point and lasted from 1901 to 1930. Website
