trams in Kosice, Slovakia

Red and white seem to have been the actual colors used.

Today, Kosice (roughly pronounced "Kosh-itsa") with a population of 245,000 is the second largest city in Slovakia after Bratislava.  However, before WW1 it was part of Hungary and pre-WW1 postcards carry the Hungarian name of Kassa, sometimes the German name of Kaschau.

The system is standard gauge and today has 15 lines totalling 177 km.  Pictures of the modern tram scene showing the 4 types of tram in use are on this webpage
