Trondheim tram, Norway, 1930s

Seen here crossing the Elgesæter Bridge. The Trondheim electric system began operation in 1901 and was metre gauge. One line closed in 1968 and the rest between 1983 and 1988, although a 8.8 km line from St Olaf's Gate in the city to Lian was reopened again in 1990 and operates today. The Norwegian word for a tram is trikk, a little odd for an English speaker!

A photo taken of the same bridge in 1967 - the trams' livery seen here seems to have been the same throughout.
