With the help of 8 externally mounted solid fuel rockets, a Lockheed KC-130 could operate from very short runways. The Marine KC-130T, named Fat Albert, the support aircraft for the Navy's Blue Angels aerial demonstration team, used to perform Jet Assisted Take-Offs as part of its popular air show routine.
