Nowadays St Tropez on the French Rivera is known as a hangout for the international rich and beautiful where girls go topless, and is accordingly known by the French as St Trop d'Aise (St Too Much Ease). The port was once used by general shipping, but is now exclusively the base of (expensive) leisure craft.
