Founded in 1884, the Italian firm of Piaggio is now the fourth largest producer of scooters and motorcycles in the world, and produces more than 600,000 vehicles annually including small 3- and 4-wheelers. It has five research and development centres, and more than 6,700 employees and operations in over 50 countries.
