Good to see. In 1980 the BBC broadcast its first series of Great Train Journeys, Ludivic Kennedy travelled across the States from New York to Los Angeles, still a classic to watch but also encouraging that America has held onto its network and revamped it in competition with highways and airlines. Apparently there are millions of Americans who still will not fly.

ReplyDeleteAmtrak ridership has risen 50% in the last 10 years (see December post) and the TSA will probably see it continue to increase.
