traffic on the King Alexander bridge, Belgrade, late 1930s

This 450 metre long bridge connecting the center of Belgrade to the densely populated residential suburb of Novi Beograd was originally built as Most kralja Aleksandra ("King Alexander Bridge"). It was destroyed in 1941 and rebuilt in 1956 as a single span bridge, at the time the longest bridge of that kind in the world, now called Brankov most (Branko's bridge).
