marine activity in Silloth, Cumbria, England circa 1900


The town, known also as Silloth on Solway, is a small holiday resort developed in the 1860s around the terminus of the railway from Carlisle which was opened in 1856 (and closed in 1964 under the infamous Beeching axe).
