Angry investors today called for Douglas Graham, a co-director of failed finance company Lombard to be stripped of his knighthood following his conviction for offences under the Securities Act. Some may say, "knighthood - doesn't that just mean he was a good crony of the establishment?" In the past, apart from a few people who actually had performed services for the community if not humanity, most knighthoods were simply dished out for that. However, the honours system was permanently and irreparably discredited by the knighthoods given to finance crooks Michael Fay and David Richwhite.
If the government doesn't have Graham stripped of his knighthood (as well as Fay and Richwhite) they must know that the title will then mean nothing good for most people. In any event, we suggest that everyone ignores the "Sir" when referring to these people as we do.
