Fiat and narrow gauge steam train at Smigiel station, Poland


This railway began in German days as the metre-gauge Schmiegeler Kreisbahn.  After WW2 with Stalin's border changes, the town of Schmiegel found itself in Poland and was renamed Smigiel; the railway was regauged by the PKP (Polish state railway) to 750 mm and the metre gauge rolling stock transferred elsewhere.  Info on the preserved railway operation here
