Cape Foulwind Railway, Westport

As those who have our books know, this was a former branchline west from Westport across the Buller River to nearby Cape Foulwind on the coast. The photo in the NZ Railways Magazine of 1929 (the year before the line closed) shows an F class 0-6-0 tank loco on a goods train. In fact only C, F and Fa class tank locos were allowed on this branch. The second pic is an undated postcard showing a pony trap (presumably) waiting for a train.  The first published timetable for the line was dated 12 August 1890.  The third pic is a Muir & Moodie postcard of the Cape Foulwind station from 1908.
