This is a train that, impressively, will celebrate its 150th anniversary next year. We have mentioned its steam days in earlier posts, here is a postcard featuring a British Rail 40 class diesel, and the centenary poster featuring a 55 class "Deltic", probably the best regarded BR diesel by enthusiasts.
