British lorries of the 1950s and 1960s

Like British cars, British lorries (or as we call them, trucks) dominated NZ roads during the 1950s and 1960s because of the Government's trade policies of the era, so many of these vehicles pictured in these books will evoke memories for people here too.

These two matching books from Veloce are a primarily a gathering of nostalgic photos (mostly b/w) and ephemera (mostly colour) with captions, and don't set out to be a comprehensive history of any of the vehicles or the industry.  Most of the trucks were designed for short haul small loads - between the factory and the rail freight depot or wharf, or to shops and businesses - rather than the intercity juggernauts we see today.  Some were designed for special purposes such as livestock and liquids or transporting other vehicles.

Each book is 96 pages, 210 x 190 mm, softcover with flaps.
