Herrnskretschen in Böhmische Schweiz is now called Hrensko in Czech Switzerland, on a river that is a tributary of the Elbe (see map) which in this area forms the border between Germany and the Czech Republic. The nearest railway station is Schöna. The postcard dated 27 July 1907 is taken on the German side of the Elbe looking at the Czech side; the hotel in the centre has now gone and not been rebuilt but the one on the right is still there.
