Evans Bay, Wellington art, 1919

A watercolour painting by Arthur Lagden Haylock (1860-1948) dated 11 October 1919, showing the ship Waihi beached in the foreground in the vicinity of the Patent Slip with the Rongotai area, where the airport is now, in the distance.  This is an illustration that was considered for but not used in the books Wellington: a Capital Century and Wellington Transport Memories
