The well-known Edsel, a new model for the 1958 year, featured "Teletouch Drive" gear change push buttons in the steering wheel, a cyclops-eye speedometer, and “enough flashing lights…to satisfy pinball machine addicts” as
Consumer Reports put it. There were seven Edsel models altogether, including three wagons: the Ranger, the Pacer, the Corsair, the Citation, the Roundup, the Villager and the Bermuda. (pic by Marc Guay)
The Corsair shared many chassis and inner body components with the 1958 Mercury, and little with Ford models.
