St George's Day

St George is the patron saint of England and 23 April is his feast day.  It's hard to overstate the importance of England in world history - the country where the Industrial Revolution began, the country where railways began, the country which created the world's largest empire, and the country whose language is today the world's most important.

For something appropriate to the occasion, the second pic is of St George's Hall in Liverpool, one of the most magnificent buildings in England, inside and out, and well worth a visit.
