The New South Wales AD 60 class Beyer-Garratt type steam locomotives was built in a series of 47 units (5 for spares) between 1952 and 1956 with a 4-8-4+4-8-4 wheel arrangement and were the most powerful steam locomotives in Australia. They were finally withdrawn in 1972.  The restoration of number 6029 is the subject of this blog. (Pics 1-3 from the NSW State Records Office, 4 from the Gosford Library)
