steam tram on Liverpool Street, Sydney

A view looking east along Liverpool Street with Hyde Park (named after the one in London) on the left, sometime in the early 1900s. Steam trams had been mostly replaced with electric ones by the end of that decade. A photo from the Powerhouse Museum collection.

Today traffic on the the street is much busier and buildings on the south side of street are much taller.
