on the road for the vacation as it was after WW2

A 1947 Buick Roadmaster and a semi-matching black caravan shaped like an oval that has been compressed from the top, now an exhibit in the Otago Settlers Museum.  We think the caravan was a custom do it yourself model.

Caravaning, once popular, is almost a thing of the past and few holiday grounds catering for caravans exist now.  Campervans have to some extent taken their place, almost all are rented by foreign tourists.
