French railway themed stamps from 2001

2001 was the last year of national currencies in the then EU countries (except the UK, Denmark and Sweden which have yet to adopt it) before the introduction of the Euro on 1.1.2002. These stamps show both Euro and French Franc amounts.

Although there are 10 different classic railway pictures, only 3 of them are French:  La Pacific Chapelon, Le Capitole and L'Autorail Panoramique.  The Eurostar serves the UK and Belgium as well as France, the 'Crocodile' is Swiss, the Garratt is South African (Garratts also served in other countries including Australia and one unsuccessful version in NZ),  the Mallard and Crampton are British and the P8 is Prussian/German.
