While on the subject of our base town, this new logo generated controversy recently, both for the cross considered by some people to be religious, and the $24,000 ($US 21,000) the city council spent on it. We could have done it for a few hundred dollars, but as always with bureaucrats who spend other people's money, they feel some sort of need to employ an expensive PR firm to do it for tens of thousands...
