on the Sumner tram train, Christchurch, 1900s


The first view is obviously before electrification and shows an impressive line up of vehicles.  This would be a prime tourist attraction if it existed today.  For more, see earlier posts and our books.

    Note the Kitson steam tram in the upper photo. Number 7 survives today at Ferrymead Historic Park.
